Product Details

Our greeting cards are 5" x 7" in size and are produced on digital offset printers using 100 lb. paper stock. Each card is coated with a UV protectant on the outside surface which produces a semi-gloss finish. The inside of each card has a matte white finish and can be customized with your own message up to 500 characters in length. Each card comes with a white envelope for mailing or gift giving.

Artist's Description

Winters in Portland can bring a number of different types of weather.

It is not a certainty that every winter will produce four to five snowfalls of at least six inches. It is not a guarantee that each year will yield three months of weather with an average daily high temperature of twenty-nine degrees. It is not expected that winter cause at least one "shut down" of the city due to ice or snow. Yet any of these might occur.

We might experience a dry January one year, and the following year we might be met with twenty-five days of rain. Or we could have one year with tremendously windy weather all winter long, yet the next three years might provide us with just one or two truly blustery days.

Winter is a mystery we cannot plan for in Portland.

This February, our winter was unseasonably dry. So much so, the weather experts were predicting a dire draught conditions for the Willamette Valley. (Ironically, rain totals for May set new records. A...

At 15, Scott suffered a spinal cord injury while playing ice hockey, a sport he’d played since he was five. This left him “medically defined” as a c4 quadriplegic. Scott admits he can be a bit bull-headed at times. He refused to paint following his accident, because he didn’t want to hold the brushes using his mouth. To him, painting without using his hands would be as if he’d given in to being a quadriplegic. He didn’t want that! Unless he could paint like “normal” people, he didn’t want to paint at all. And so he didn’t. Finally, in 2003, after much prodding from family and friends, he decided to swallow his pride and try painting. Of course, he first tried holding the brush with his hands.
